Fresh For 2010 Motorola's Flipout
This summer sees us welcome a new mobile phone from Motorola
, but at first glance, the Flipout is certainly a little different from anything that we have seen before.
With the current popularity of social networking sites, Motorola have acknowledged this with several handy features that will appeal to the uses of such sites. Thanks to the incorporation of Motoblur technology, this excellent interface by Motorola themselves makes managing profiles and updating status a very simple affair indeed. It offers a fully customisable homescreen, meaning your front page can show you your friends updates from Twitter and Facebook, as well as any other apps and widgets that you want to place there. You can update your status instantly, and to more than one site at a time, reducing the need of having to log in and out of various sites. A unified inbox facility also lets you recieve all your e mails and texts together, whether it be via your phone or via your profile on Facebook. Phone and e mail contacts are also automatically and continuously synced with information on your mySpace, Facebook and Twitter page. Not only do such feature appeal to the masses that use such technology, they also simplify the day to day operation of the phone. The Flipout runs on the hugely popular and well received Android 2.1 operating system and offers the user superb connectivity options whether it be at home or on the move. 3G, EDGE and GPRS means you can constantly stay in touch, wherever you are. WiFi offers the ultimate online experience when connected to your own network.
Measuring 67 x 67 x17mm, the first impressions of the Motorola Flipout are good, if not a little intriguing. Its unconventional shape, square rather than rectangular, stands out immediately, but thanks to its overall miniature size this actually works in its favour, meaning the end result is a unit that sits nicely in your hand without being to bulky. A 2.8" TFT screen does not disappoint, and it show a high quality QVGA resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. But the real feather in the cap of this phone is the excellent Qwerty keyboard. Neatly hidden beneath the screen, this keypad comprises of five rows of keys which are revealed when the screen is pivoted to the size, gaining admirable glances from your friends at the same time. For people who e mail or SMS a lot, this is a major plus point of the handset. 2GB of memory comes installed on the phone, upgradable to 32GB thanks to the micro SD card slot.
If you a looking for a functional handset with great social networking feature and a real wow factor when it comes to design, the you need look no further than the excellent Motorola Flipout.
