Frontline Plus is a chemical used in the treatment of dogs and cats for killing flea and tick. Frontline plus interrupts the central nervous system of the insects and prevent the chloride ions from passing in to the GABA receptor and glutamate receptor of the central nervous system. This medication helps to kill the insects by damaging the nerve and the muscles of the insects. This medication reacts slowly, it lure the insects and makes the insects to spread the chemical thought the body of the animals. Frontline has the ability to kill all the fleas in the body of an animal within 18 hours but it takes time to kill ticks actually for killing all the ticks it takes 48 hours.

How to use this medication in pets?

Frontline plus should be used according to the prescription of the veterinary doctor. Check the label of the medication for direction given in the leaflet of medication. Frontline dogs medication should be used if the dog is 8 weeks or above. The dosages of Frontline Plus depends upon the weight of the dogs. Similarly while applying frontline plus on the cat, the cat should be at-least 8 weeks an above. Apply the medication on the skin of the animals. This medication should be kept at the room temperature away from heat, light and moisture. Keep the lid of the medication container tight, do not let the children and the pets miss use it so keep the medication out of reach to them.

What are the possible side effects of using this drug?

Some of the side effects of frontline plus are that the animal may feel itchy, irritation or redness on the skin. If the dog accidently inhales Frontline Plus dogs, the animal might experience stomach or intestinal problem. This medication also may cause the animal to feel like scratchy. Besides this the animal may have a nauseated disorder and puking.

What precautions should be followed while using Frontline Plus?

Do not allow the animal to swim or bathe before the medication gets dry, wait for at-least for 24 hour before giving bath. Once the Frontline plus dosage is applied the it can be applied again after completing 30 days. Do not apply this medication in the eye else it will injure the eye. This medication is for external use only. Always consult the veterinary doctor before using in pregnant or nursing animal. Tell the doctor before applying this medication if you are using any other pesticides medication in the animal so as to avoid drug interaction. Wash hands with water and soap after applying this medication in the animals
