Fuel And Economy Efficient Vehicles
Within the past few years going green has become all the rage
. Consumers of all ages and backgrounds are trying to cut down on their consumption rates, and recycling efforts and eating healthy has never been more apparent. With all of these efforts being put forth, its no wonder that the eco-friendly ideas are coming up in other aspects of our lives as well. Think about it, when is it that you use the most energy? Heating and cooling systems, electricity, and of course, your vehicle. Depending on the make and model, you may be using up more fuel than is necessary - costing you extra while adding to pollution.
To help combat this issue, especially in nicer climates, more and more people have traded in driving for walking or riding their bikes. Rather than fueling up every week, families are helping cut back on their fuel costs while getting in some exercise as well. Fuel efficiency is becoming an added issue as well. New car models are being made to use less fuel, or even alternative forms of gasoline. Ethanol fuels, which can power vehicles almost as efficiently as traditional petrol, is made from crops - a sustainable resource. Other cars can now run on electricity, allowing for gasoline for longer trips.
Hybrid Vehicles
Perhaps one of the longest-running forms of eco-friendly vehicles, hybrid vehicles have been available for several years. Incorporating the going green mantra with current vehicle standards, creating smaller, more compact vehicles. This allows for better gas mileage, while drivers can be sure they are helping to do their part for the environment. Although some hybrid models may be more expensive (because they are new), most purchasers find that the extra cost is outweighed in the long run due to tax incentives and decreased fuel bills.
Future Generations
What's interesting about going green is that it's affecting younger generations even before they reach the driving age. In fact, studies are showing that today's teenagers are far less interested in driving than those from even just a few years ago. While former teenagers were busy incorporating fuel injections and ways to make their supped-up cars drive faster, the next round of kids are less interested in driving at all. Whether or not this may change is up for debate, however, at least for now, the statistics don't lie.
Alternative Transportation
These kids, as well as other age groups, are still traveling though, just more efficiently. By taking public transportation, walking, or riding a bike (road bike models can move in the upwards of 30mph), citizens are able to reach their destinations without using a car for only a single person. Through the advancement of hybrid vehicles, awareness about going green, and better fuel efficiency, the greater public has been able to cut back on gasoline usage significantly. As these numbers continue to drop over the years (combined with alternative fuel sources, such as electricity and ethanol blends), the world will see large decreases in pollution levels. Thanks to the efforts of going green, vehicles and transportation methods have been adapted and changed to put lower amounts of pollution into the air.
