Functional and Affordable: The New Samsung Lindy M5650
After the considerably successful performance of the Samsung Corby just a few months back
, the Korean-based mobile phone manufacturer is at it again. With the new Lindy M5650, Samsung stays strong on its desire to extend the touch screen functionality of Smartphones to a whole new market. Below is a quick look at the spanking new Samsung Lindy M5650. Talk is Cheap Samsung is definitely doing a big favor not only for the consumers but also for the mobile phone industry in general. By slashing down the price of touch enabled mobiles, it becomes much more affordable for the simple folks out there that refuse to be lured in by the incredibly high price tags of the likes of the Apple iPhone. With the new Lindy, consumers are given yet another cheaper alternative. Consumers who are unwilling to spend a whole months paycheck on a top of the line touch screen device will be glad to know that they can actually acquire such a device for a much more reasonable price. While the Lindy may not be as cheap as the famed Corby, it is still definitely reasonably priced at less than 150. Downsized Functions However, for such an affordable price, you shouldnt expect to get the cutting edge technology found in the latest iPhone model. The functionality of the Samsung Lindy M5650 is somewhat relative or proportional to the price youre going to have to shell out for it. Perhaps the most relevant discrepancy lies in the mobiles display, while still sporting the TFT capacitive touch screen technology, is a far cry from its pricier counterparts, at least resolution-wise. While the likes of the Apple iPhone 3GS is capable of displaying up to 16 million colours, Lindy users will have to settle for 256 thousand. Its 240 x 320-pixel resolution is also not at the same level as the iPhones 320 x 480 pixels. However, every other feature is pretty much Smart enough. 3G connectivity is on board as is Wi-Fi and EDGE technology. While the Lindy may lack a GPS receiver, its built-in camera should be able to suffice. In fact, pixel-wise it's practically the same as the camera found on the iPhone 3.15 Megapixels and up to 2048 x 1536 pixels. Bang for the Buck At the end of the day, the main characteristic of the Lindy that makes it so attractive is its ability to provide value for money. Few other handsets in the market are able to provide the same list of impressive functionalities at such an affordable rate. Samsung has already succeeded with the Corby which means that they know what they need to do with the Lindy. If anything, we should see some improvements on how the company addresses the entry level market. With the Samsung Lindy M5650, dont expect to experience all the frills of the iPhone and other 400 to 500-pound mobiles. However, you should be able to get the functions youd need from a Smartphone without having to spend a fortune on it.
