In some of my online content, I make mention of "funded proposal marketing", but what exactly is funded proposal marketing? Well, simply put, funded proposal marketing is the design of a lead-generating marketing funnel that pays for itself, and it most cases, makes you a profit. When set up correctly, not only does funded proposal marketing keep you from having to spend heavily on marketing, it will actually MAKE you money. Sounds great, right? Let's discuss why you need such a system in your online business and how to set it up.

Many people attempt to launch businesses of all types, and they intend to use the power of the internet to market their business to the masses. While this is definitely a great idea, there are a few things that some people are unaware of when using online marketing techniques. For example, if you are a network marketer, you will spend marketing money on websites, blogs, capture pages, web hosting fees, and product samples for your business, etc. These business costs can add up very rapidly, and there is no guarantee of any kind of return on the investment. In addition, many network marketers use "pay-per-click" advertising or Adwords campaigns that cost money to maintain. I will illustrate with a simple example:

Well let's say you are running a "pay-per-click" ad campaign that costs $1.00 per click. The potential leads that click on your ad are lead to a "squeeze page" or "capture page" that is designed to let them "opt-in" to your list and become a lead for you. Let's also say that your "squeeze page" has a 30% opt-in rate. That means that 3 out of every 10 people who visit your page will actually opt in and become a lead. So do the math, 3 leads will cost you $10.00. Not so bad, right? However, statistics say the only about 1%-3% of your leads will actually join your business opportunity!!! So, with this model you can see how you can quickly lose a lot of money in your business. This initial debt accrued by marketing is also a major problem for network marketers who only use "offline" techniques to market their businesses. They may spend money on buying leads, flyers, business cards, and samples of their products. However, the only way that they will recoup any of these costs is by successfully recruiting people into their organization, which as I discussed above, only constitutes only about 1% - 3% of their actual leads. What if there was a way to profit on the 97% - 99% of the leads that did not join the business opportunity? Well, there is, and this is the beauty of funded proposal marketing.


The key to funded proposal marketing is having an initial or upfront product that can really be valuable to the target market of your lead generation efforts. Since we are talking about people they may be interested in network marketing or may already be involved in network market, some of the problems that they may be experience may revolve around how to generate more money or leads in their own business. So, if you have an upfront product that will solve these issues, you can recoup the costs of your marketing by sales of your upfront product. The key to the marketing funnel is knowing your target market and helping your leads to solve their problems, and not be so concerned about your own issues.

Like many people, you may not have personally created an upfront product that you can sell. Never fear, most online products having content that teaches lead generation and producing higher income also present the opportunity for others to become affiliates and earn commissions on sales of that product. In this way, you can have an upfront product in your funded proposal marketing system and begin to profit from your lead generating efforts even if the lead does not become a partner in your primary network marketing business.
