Need to raise a lot of cash for your church quickly and without hiring an external company

? Here are some ideas to get you started:

1) Ask your congregation. During services, pass around a basket or two, depending on how many separate things you want to collect for. This group is your target audience, and they will be most willing to donate, so make sure you hit them first. This will be one of the most important ways to fundraise for a church. Make it a regular part of your services and you can get a steady flow of income to the church. Members of the church should know that the money will be used to improve services, maintain the church, etc.

2) Send out mailers. Mail letters to the members of your church, or to the community at large, asking for donations. Make sure you indicate what the money will be used for in the letter.

3) Have a fund raiser at your church. This could be anything from a bake sale, a car wash, or any other way to make money as a group. Another one of the ways to fundraise for a church is to hold a raffle, either 50/50 or for cash or physical prizes.

4) Go door to door. This is a bit more aggressive, but can be effective. Send volunteers to collect donations at people's homes. Make sure they are able to tell people what the donated money will be used for.

5) Fundraise on the internet - Facebook and other Web 2.0 properties can help you reach a very broad audience. If your church wants to raise money for a general cause, consider bringing the efforts to the internet.
