The region of Galicia
The region of Galicia
The northwest of Spain hosts the amazing Galicia, whose capital is the beautiful city of Santiago de Compostela. The history of the region is violent one; the Visigoths, the Romans, the Moors and the Vikings, they all visited the region and wanted at some point in the past to rule it. Even though the region is predominantly a mountainous one, the coastline is also very attractive, having millions of tourists from all the corners of the world every single year. The coastline is so attractive because the beaches are absolutely amazing, they all have picturesque views and traditional restaurants which serve delicious dishes and this is all what a tourist wants and expects from a holiday. The mountains are not the highest that Spain has, but almost the entire area is covered by Protected Natural Parks, due to the beauty of the landscapes which the government wants to keep intact, and to the amazing number of plants and animals that found their homes here.
