Resting on 20 hectares of lush land located at the base of the Willans Hill Reserve, the Botanical Garden is home to various attractions such as a discovery centre, mini zoo, adventure playground, tree chapel, rainforest gully and a miniature railway. The rainforest gully recreates an actual rainforest complete with plants, trees and the moist yet humid feel of a rainforest. Picnic areas are available at the edge of the gully for tourists to enjoy the unique rainforest conditions.

Visitors can also have an exciting train ride through the woodlands, tunnel and bridge of the Botanical Gardens via the miniature railway. Visitors are required to wear closed footwear when riding the train. For snacks and meals, visitors can enjoy their food at kiosks or buy their meals from the Garden Court Restaurant. Picnic areas are also available for those who would like to enjoy the scenery offered by the garden.


The Botanical Garden is also home to several miniature gardens that showcase a unique selection of flowers and plants. Visitors may visit the Rose Garden to see roses of various colours in full bloom. There is also a spectacular Island and Bamboo Garden that has become a popular wedding venue. To see the most comprehensive selection of camellias in Australia, visitors need to simply drop-by the Camellia Garden.

The Botanical Garden also offers an Exotic Section which features trees, shrubs and flowers that are not indigenous to Australia. The Exotic Section is home to several species of trees including the Dawn Cypress, a tree species that was thought to be extinct for millions of years until it was found flourishing in China. Other miniature gardens include the Shakespearean Garden, Cactus Garden and the Water Wise Garden.

Victory Memorial Gardens

The Victory Memorial Gardens rest on two hectares of land located on the corner of Baylis and Morrow Streets, along the banks of the Wollundry Lagoon. The name of the garden was derived from the various memorials and dedications to the First and Second World Wars and Vietnam War that are featured in the garden. Tourists and locals can learn a lot about the military history and heritage of Wagga Wagga from these memorials.

With its lush gardens and grass areas, memorial fountain and lagoon, the Victory Memorial Garden has become a popular wedding venue. The garden is also an ideal place for families to relax and enjoy their packed meals. Children can also enjoy the playground or feed the ducks found in the gardens.

Collins Park


Collins Park is home to several tree species including Bunya Pines and Plane Trees with most of them more than 100 years old! Colourful garden beds also surround the park. In the middle of the park is a playground for children to enjoy. Collins Park also features several memorials, giving tourists and locals an account of the rich history of the city. With its peaceful and cool setting, Collins Park is an ideal venue where families can escape to.
