More often than not, when visiting a holiday home, people are more than likely going to take care of the houses furnishings if they can tell that they are valuable and have quality. For example if you have an expensive glass coffee table, the resident is less likely to put their feet up on it and leave it in a general mess.

As in this region we are close to the beaches, things like removable covers on sofas are recommended as sand and sun tan cream don't leave the nicest of marks! Such things as microwaves, satellite TV and tumble driers are appreciated if there is enough space.

A comfortable bed sounds obvious but is a must! Residents come away to relax and enjoy themselves and if they can't sleep at night then they are only going to become stressed amd will ruin their holiday.

The point is to not try and cut corners when furnishing as people will respect and notice if the owner has put that little bit extra into the property.

Cleanliness

Turning up to a house where there are spots of burnt food on the hob, sweet wrappers behind curtains or a thick layer of dust on top of the TV can cause immediate complaints from the lodger. Having well trusted cleaners visiting at the end of the stay, and sometimes midweek, is valuable and you also have a means of the property being checked upon.

Don't expect the house to be in perfect condition after a stay. Accidents happen when it comes to breakages so if a few plates or glasses are smashed, don't be surprised or upset! And residents come away to use your facilities to relax, they don't want to be tidying and hoovering every day!
