We all know that sites have their fair share of rules that they want you to follow and digg is no exception, but if you are smart, you will obey them

. The reason that you're smart to obey them is because you're thinking about your long-term success and if you use digg right, it can mean long-term traffic and profits for your online business.

The first rule with using digg is to obey the rules, if you don't obey them, then you risk having your account deleted and you will be missing out on this asset. You have to view your digg account as an asset. As with any asset you want to keep it and grow it.

You can't keep it and grow it if you don't have it. So with that, lets quickly cover what you need to do to keep your digg account.

The first rule that you must follow is that you can't have more than one account. The reason that people would do this and the reason why digg doesn't want people to do this is because they don't want someone creating a bunch of different accounts and digging their own blogs or sites, over and over again. That would destroy their whole system.

The second rule that you have to follow is simple, but sometimes people go overboard. That is that you shouldn't mistreat or slander other members and you shouldn't spam other members.

The third rule that you should follow is to not abuse digg by using black hat methods to get diggs. Some of those black hat methods could be scripts that are unethical and get diggs in immoral ways.

Giving people incentive to digg your stories is also unethical. You shouldn't be going around there saying, digg my submission and I will scratch your back and just digg your submission, blindly. That is something that digg doesn't like people to do.

Another thing that they don't want is for you to use some services where you pay a fee and get a bunch of people to digg your submission. That also goes against what digg is all about. Be warned that they have become very strict and they spend a ton of money to determine that the diggs are legit.
