Fortunately, I'm an old hat at this, so I have collected a few tips to help you make this holiday season the best yet, at least as far as party-throwing and cleanup are concerned.

If it stresses you too much to scramble to clean the house, then consider renting or reserving an outside venue. Many apartment or condominium complexes have clubhouses that you can use for your festivities with a small deposit, as long as you reserve it as far in advance as possible. Check with someone in your HOA or an office manager to find out if the date and time you want is still available.

If you have a little more money to spend, then you could investigate more upscale options, like renting a hotel ballroom. Sometimes doing this can eliminate most of the factors that make party planning a potential nightmare. Catering and cleaning are frequently provided with the total cost, but make sure you find out exactly what you're getting.

Before making any type of commitment, you'll usually receive some paperwork that explains both your obligations and your privileges. An outside venue may not be a viable option for you, but never fear! First off, if you are using your home, then only clean what you have to clean. For example, if you have multiple bathrooms, then directing all guests to use the one directly off the dining hall means you spend less time scrubbing and perfecting every little corner of all three bathrooms.
