If you want to get free targeted traffic to your website and rank high on the first page of Google, you've come to the right place. Getting traffic to your web pages is crucial to your success as an online marketer. It's one of the very important stages of selling a product online. It's not about gimmicks or trickery but yet it's very effective.
I'm talking about simple article marketing and it's one of the few ways you can gain traffic for free. How does this work? Good question and here's how in three simple steps.
First Step: Understand your audience and know how they find products they want to buy. This is as simple as going to where they go online to get their information. If you're selling skin care products for example, you could search in Google for skin care forums or skin care blogs and join their community. This would give you some inside information about what they (your potential customers) are looking for.
Second Step: Research keywords that they use to find products they want to buy. There are many tools that you can use to get this information. Google adwords tool is probably the most well known. It does a pretty good job and will get you started in finding good keyword phrases. The more specific and targeted those phrases, the better your chances are of getting free traffic. For example, skin care for dry skin or skin care for men are better phrases than just skin care.
Once you have your list of keyword phrases, get a little more serious and enter those into the tool to come up with even more ideas. The best tools will give you feedback on the competition of specific phrases. The less competition for them the more likely you are to get an article ranked high in the search engine results for that phrase and ultimately gain free traffic to your website because you are on the first page of Google. You also want to make sure to choose phrases that people are actually using to search for products. If you find phrases that meet these two criteria, you will have a successful highly ranked article.
Third Step: Write and publish your article. Now, you actually have to write the article and use the targeted keyword phrases you came up with. Before I start writing my articles, I like to look at some articles that are already popular and doing well on some of the top article directories. Look at several and note which ones you find appealing. Do you like the style? Are they giving you useful information? Would you click on their links?
Article marketing is just one method to get traffic to your website but it is one of the only free methods I know about. It's the perfect way to get started in Internet marketing and get lots of practice writing since that is the core of any successful online business.
