Archaeological Museum

This archaeological museum in Goa is located 9 km from the state's capital Panjim. It was once the centre of Portuguese authority on the west coast of India. Here you could see fortress walls and administrative buildings, imposing churches and monasteries, particularly the Basilica de Born Jesus which contains the earthly remains of Saint Francis Xavier. The rarities to be found here are a couple of gorgeous Jain bronzes rescued by customs and excise officials from smugglers and on the ground floor, snaps of the prehistoric rock carvings at Usgalimal.

Naval Aviation Museum

The primary naval museum in Asia was inaugurated at Dabolim, Vasco in 1998 and opened for public from 19th October 1998. This museum showcases the history of Indian Naval Aviation, several aircrafts, sensors, weapons, safety equipment, rare snaps depicting Goa's liberation and artifacts.

Museum of Goa Daman and Diu

This museum concentrates on archival and archaeological material. Accordingly the collection of sculpture displays antiquities from the various Hindu dynasties that once ruled Goa. Moreover, there are important manuscripts and inscriptions, coins and textiles that could also be seen. The furniture, art objects, particularly ivory statues, relate to Christian-Portuguese influences.

Christian Art Gallery

This gallery exhibits wooden statues of several Christian Saints and others including Pieta. There are also portraits of past Prime Ministers and Portuguese Governors of the state. It also includes some exceptional paintings on metal and canvas, wood, some furniture pieces like a carved table and chair of the Portuguese Governor General, small ivory idols, a sofa set with ivory inlay work, chest of drawers and few chairs of western style. An appealing item is a flag which was used to honor the Portuguese victory over the Dutch.

Western Bronzes Gallery

In this gallery, duplicates of the bronze sculptures of European artists like Dalon, Claude and others are displayed. These bronzes form an important part of the museum collection.
