Since this rug is quite costly, we need to take extra effort on cleaning it. Taking care of it does not start after you bought it and use it; it will start the moment you laid your cards on it. When you are interested on that certain rug, you need to take extra time on inspecting it well, you don't want to a low quality rug. In choosing one, you need to go on details such as the texture of the fabric, the knots made on each corner, and its flexibility. Yes, a stiff rug often gives you an idea that it is suffering from dry rot thus making it more brittle and easy to wear.

As you take it home be sure to place it on the perfect place, since this kind of rug is a bit sensitive. It shouldn't be placed on a damp area nor in a area where sunlight glares most of the time because it could aid growing of fungi. We don't want to ruin the beauty of our Oriental rugs.
