If you have young children, you will likely want to play an old favorite such as Chutes and Ladders or Candy Land. These games have been staples for quite some time, and most children will love the game night when these are played. You might be surprised, however, with the fact that it is not only children that enjoy playing these games. More than likely, you played them when you were a youngster and you will enjoy the nostalgia of moving the pieces around the board. In fact, you may even find that you are playing these games more frequently than some of the more adult games that we will discuss next.

Some of the other games that are more suitable for adults but children can also enjoy include Parcheesi and Clue. Monopoly is also an excellent choice, although it does take quite a bit to play this game if you are going to play it out to its ultimate conclusion. These are games that you should play on a rotating basis, as everybody is sure to have a favorite.

If there are only two of you, you might want to try playing either a game of chess or checkers. If chess is your game, you should buy a chess set that is regulation size so that you can get comfortable with playing with those size pieces. Of course, you might enjoy something that is a little bit of a specialty, such as having a 3-D chess board. As long as the pieces are proportionate to the board, it is going to work just fine for you.

Additional games may also be played with both adults and children alike. These can include various games of dominoes as well as several different dice games, which can be rather addicting. You may also want to learn how to play cards, and there are certainly plenty of card games that are available that will keep you happy for an entire evening. When you are going to be playing any of these games, it is important to ensure that you rotate the rules to a certain extent and perhaps try variations of the games. This can help keep the night interesting for everyone involved.

Once you have established a regular game night, you will find that it is a very enjoyable time for the entire family. Continue to add new games into the mix and to find something that is going to appeal to the entire family. These are times that you will remember for the rest of your life.
