Getting Your Head Around Excessive Head Sweating
Are you a person who is suffering from the annoyance of excessive head sweating
? If you are then rest assured you are certainly not the only who is going through this situation. Sweating excessively from your head is actually another form of a condition known as hyperhidrosis and many people throughout the world suffer from hyperhidrosis in one of its forms. Everyone sweats but when it comes to hyperhidrosis the sweating isn't in normal volumes, it is excessive. Different people suffering from excessive sweating may have different forms of hyperhidrosis. For example some people may suffer palmar hyperhidrosis which involves the hands, plantar hyperhidrosis which involves the feet and axillary hyperhidrosis which involves the underarms.
Excessive head sweating can have many different causes and doctors can have difficulty with pinpointing the real cause at first and it may take some trial and error before they find the real culprit. This condition is by no means an easy one to hide since you can't hide it underneath your clothing as you can with some sweating. Sweaty heads also result in hair that smells of sweat and having a sweaty scalp may damage your hair and cause scalp irritation leading you to feel the need to scratch on a regular basis. Another result of an excessively sweaty head is drenched pillows at night which often become smelly and stained. When someone smells of sweat and people notice it some people may begin to avoid that person purely because of the smell which is embarrassing for the person suffering from excessive head sweating and can also deliver quite a blow to their self esteem.
Some people may have an excessively sweaty head because they are genetically predisposed to it where as others may simple have some bad hygiene habits and such which cause them to sweat more. Sometimes the cause of sweating excessively is very obvious and very easy to fix such as people wearing rather warm clothing in very humid and hot climates. Some people believe that showering and bathing on a very regular basis with some shampoo products may in fact be a cause of excessive head sweating but it is yet to be proven. One thing which is certain is that before you can treat the problem you must first find the cause of it.
The best way to find the cause of your excessive sweating is by visiting your doctor. Your doctor is a professional and will know what to do in order to find the cause and inform you of all the possible treatment methods for your consideration. Self diagnosing will only get you so far and it is best to see your doctor to ensure that you are not sweating because of an underlying medical condition which you aren't even aware of. There's no doubt that your doctor will be able to answer any questions you have about your condition and they can refer you to a specialist if they feel that it is necessary to do so. Hold your head up high and walk into an appointment with your doctor; it's the first step towards a hyperhidrosis free future.
