Top tip #1 Discover why the break up occurred
This will allow you to learn from your mistakes to ensure that you don't make the same ones again once you've successfully gotten your ex back. It will also allow you to empathise' with your ex and open yourself up for solutions rather than more problems, which is key to getting your ex back.
Top tip #2 Don't come across as needy
I know that you'll desperately want to express to your ex that you miss them and want them back. Don't. If you seem needy or desperate it will only have the effect of pushing them further away. Instead remain strong and confident to get them to beg you back as it gets your ex thinking that they made a mistake.
Top tip #3 Don't let your emotions control your actions
Although you are experiencing lots of painful feelings do not let these heightened emotions control your actions. Calling your ex after an alcohol heavy night on the town drowning your emotions, or sending your ex angry text messages will not help your ultimate goal of getting your ex back.

You know your ex well, so take the time to plan how you approach them about making up. Above all do not call them in the middle of the night and blurt out your feeling. Think about where and when to talk. I know email might be a tempting mechanism to use, but it can be very impersonal and can therefore make things worse
