Global Leather and Leather Products Industry Elite will gather in Shanghai

Eighteenth United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) Leather Manufacturer and Leather Products Working Group meeting will be held in Shanghai from 31st, August to 6th, September, 2012. The current session is hosted by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, undertook by the China Leather Association and the exclusively sponsored by Haining China Leather City Corporation.

The establishment of United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) working group derived from the first session of leather and leather products industry conference. The meeting adopted the recommendations of UNIDO to establish a working group to ensure the implementation of the policy of the world leather industry. Based on the recommendations, UNIDO has set up a working Group of leather and leather products, which is composed of representatives from all regions of the world and United Nations agencies, who are concerned about the hot and difficult problems of the world's leather and leather products industry, and introduce measures to assist leather implement technical exchanges and cooperation in all areas of the world.

The United Nations Industrial Development Organization leather and leather products Working Group has successfully held seventh session since its establishment, which made a lot of important decisions each session. Its eighteenth session will focus on assessing the implementation of the conclusions and recommendations, program of the 17th session, providing a reference for UNIDO to help its introduction of new measures of cooperation in the field of leather technology, which is beneficial for UNIDO to launch technical assistance projects in countries and regions all over the world.

At the same time, this meeting will provide assessment information for UNIDO, promoting the smooth implementation of the plan on the leather and leather products industry in developing countries. It should be particular noted that in order to achieve technical cooperation in the leather industry, the meeting will also provide good small-scale production, professional training programs for government and research sectors, as well as the latest information in leather processing, footwear and leather goods industry pollution control.

Broadly speaking, this session will provide a good platform to exchange information and experiences, which promotes the leather industry stably and healthily develops. Continued development and improvement of leather and leather products industry in the Asia-Pacific, Africa and other emerging markets will become the main topic of the meeting.
