Go Walking In The Great Outdoors
Walking is a fantastic hobby to take up
Walking is a fantastic hobby to take up. Many people hear "walking" and think that it will not be a great form of exercise and that they might as well take up something "harder" such as jogging or biking. However if you choose the right routes to walk on and take on mountains and hills you will certainly feel like you have done a great amount of exercise once you get back down to the bottom after reaching the top! There are some fantastic places to go walking in the UK, and can make for a really enjoyable trip.
When you go on a holiday you have to think of activities to do and pay out for lots of excursions, however if you are really into fitness and want to go on a walking and hiking holiday it will not cost you very much. You can pack a tent and camp, book a hotel or even choose a nice log cabin somewhere if you did want to spend more, and then go on beautiful walks. Walking costs nothing and you will get to see stunning scenery, various wildlife, dramatic coastlines depending on your location and more. With strict laws on what you can and cannot take abroad too, you often end up taking less than you would like to just in case they stop to check something in your bag. If you are holidaying at home in the UK then you can pack up as much food as you like and save on costs of meals. Stopping for a nice home cooked pub meal after a walk will feel like a real treat too and not cost a fortune!
Another thing which will be easy is choosing what to take in the form of clothing. You know before you even book the holiday that you will be going on long walks so will need to pack warm, thick clothing and also light clothes for if the sun is shining. When you do go walking you do not realise how warm you actually get so where a jumper or fleece over the top of a t-shirt so you can cool off easily. It is a great idea to carry a pack-a-mac just in case it decides to rain. You do not have to worry about how you look as well, choose quality over style and make sure you are comfortable.
There are 15 National Parks in the UK, so if you are undecided as to where to pick this should make finding somewhere easier. There are a wide range of walking routes to pick from in Cheshire, Cornwall, Exmoor, Norfolk and more. Make sure to pack some maps and plan some routes then head off on your fun adventure.
