What if, tomorrow, when you walked down to the mailbox and took out the mail

, you saw a letter from the White House, signed President Clinton? The letter says, My family and I are coming to your house on Christmas Eve, and we want to attend the Fellowship of Las Colinas two Christmas Eve services at 4:30 and 6:00 at MacArthur High School, and then we will spend Christmas with your family. Well hang around and eat Christmas dinner with you, and well have a wonderful time! If you read that, what would you do? Oh! Weve got to paint the house, weve got to reshingle the roof, weve got to clean, and weve got to make it look the best and manicure the lawn, because someone important is coming to live. Someone much, much, much, much more important than the President of the United States is living in your life, and I ask you, how are you treating this house? How are you treating this dwelling-place?

There is another demonstration of Gods concern, and thats the fifth demonstration. Look down at 1 Corinthians 15:40. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. The fifth demonstration is the fact that God has chosen to resurrect our bodies. The flesh is important in this life, and the flesh will be important in eternity. The Bible says we will have new and improved bodies. Its a dangerous game when you play the dichotomization game. You try to separate the soul and the body and the spirit. Theyre all in one. Theyre one here, and they will be one in eternity. In fact, verse 49 continues, Just as we have born the image of the earthly, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Now, people ask me sometimes, Ed, what will we look like in heaven? I give them this great theological answer: I really dont know. We dont know a lot about heaven. I believe that if we did know a lot about it, we couldnt wait to get there! Wed be doing anything and everything to get there as quickly as possible. But God tells us our bodies will be new and improved. So weve seen, very rapidly, five demonstrations of Gods concern for the human body. The theology of the body. Ed Young Church stated that it shouldnt surprise you, then, that our Lord has set forth a comprehensive commandment concerning how we should treat our bodies. That commandment is found in 1 Corinthians 6:20. Look at the last five words, because I want you to memorize these words. This is the message in a phrase: Glorify God in your body. Say it with me: glorify God in your body. The question that begs to be answered is, how? Okay, God, you tell me to glorify you, to honor you in my body. How do I do that?
