God Will Do What He Has Promised Part 2
All God's promises carry some conditions and we are required to have faith in the Lord. Once you satisfy the condition attached to any promise, then it is yours to claim. God promises that He will honour your faith as Jesus states in Luke 17:6, "If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprooted and planted in the sea," and it will obey you."
God promises blessings to those who give liberally, as Jesus says in Luke 6:38, "Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you." No one can out give God and as you give, He will surprise you hundredfold. The condition attached to this is "give" and it will be given to you. Your prosperity is in your hands if you fulfil this condition.
The Almighty God also promises to be with those who are obedient. Jesus says in John 14:23, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him." Obedience is a key ingredient in our spiritual walk with God. He promises that if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best of the land. It is better to obey HIM fully as partial disobedience is equal to full disobedience.
One of the greatest promises of God is to come to the aid of those who seek Him. His Word says in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
Wow! There are a few conditions to fulfil here before we can claim this promise. First of all, God requires our humility, then our prayers. After, He wants us to seek His face and turn from our wicked ways. After fulfilling all these conditions, then we can lay hold of His promise.
There is also a promise of eternal life in 1 John 2:24-25, "See that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you will also remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what He has promised us even eternal life." God is concerned that we will not be led astray from His Word. He wants us to be partakers of His promise of eternal life.
God has also promised that those who love Him will inherit the Kingdom. Also, "blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him." James 1:12. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised.
We can see from a few of God's promises listed above that we have to play our own part in order to receive them. God will do His own part of the bargain, but He will not do our own part for us. As there are conditions in all of God's promises, we must try to stay in our own corner and not try to do God's part for Him. He is able to cope by Himself and does not need our help. PEACE!
