Going Green Is Not Enough Anymore

Consumers and employees will start to prefer stores that are taking appropriate measures to guard against infection

. Especially in this dangerous time when the swine flu is a rapid threat.

Tourists even, are hesitant to come to certain cities, especially those that have reported wide spread infection of the H1NI swine flu.

According to an article just published with the Niagra Falls Review, "Looking to protect employees and customers, many businesses have put up sanitizing stations in offices and buildings." These are no longer just for the doctors office, all types of stores, offices and restaurants are putting them up for both employees and customers.

According to Shoppers Drug Mart Corp., said spokeswoman Tammy Smitham.

"There's an unprecedented demand for hand sanitizers," she said. "We're constantly working with our supplier to ensure products are available for our customers. And when stores are depleted, we work to refill them as quickly as we can."

Aside from hand sanitizers, organizations should take their part in keeping their facilities disinfected, especially areas like public bathrooms, kitchens and eating facilities. They should take measures not only to enforce sanitation but to actively be enforcing that their employees are taking advantage of these additional products they are stocking up on.

Some individuals try to do there part by carrying small bottles of hand sanitizer around with them. As consumers we can take a stand by choosing the facilities that do have these measurements in place. You then protect yourself and send the message that we as consumers demand germ free environments.

To come, we may start seeing our politicians and our local governments enforcing some additional level of guard against the H1N1 virus. We can no longer be in the dark regarding this virus and the environment we live in, that's growing increasingly unsafe in terms of spreading infection.
