Going Through Drug Rehab
Every day that goes by no doubt gives way to upwards of a hundred minor accidents
that end in a broken bone of some sort and cause an individual to have to rely upon an extreme dosage of painkillers. Unfortunately these painkillers only operate under very limited circumstances, meaning that they do well to treat symptoms of a broken bone, but they cannot repair the bone itself. This so often causes a body to become unresponsive to minimal dosages of painkillers usually received, which in turn paves the way for a full blown addiction to a painkiller substance. While painkillers are not an illegal drug, the way in which they are used, on bases of recreation are considered illegal, and thus one needs to maintain boundaries with any used painkillers in order to prevent throes of addiction. If one is unable to do so, however, then they must look to find a drug rehab facility.
Now, many people associate drug rehab with one particular kind of affliction, and that is the draw to illegal substances, such as cocaine or crystal meth.
This is often the result of stereotypes shown on films, and in a lot of cases, say the case of someone who developed an addiction through painkillers taken during an injury, it is grossly inaccurate.
The only way to really go about fighting off these inaccurate assumptions is to put on an honest front. Honesty can pave the way for redemption in a lot of cases, because if you can be true to yourself, about the condition of what led you to drug rehab, and know that it wasn't a direct result of poor choices, you can put things in perspective.
Being so forward can go a long way to dispel with stereotypes and rumors, which more often than not can be one in the same.
Once one has made their way out of whatever sort of drug rehab they undertook in order to kick their drug addiction, it is important to remember what having gone to drug rehab means, and not try to hide such a fact from those trying to help.
In short, it means your body can no longer handle the use of a painkiller without potentially relapsing into an addiction, or worse, sending your body into shock. If one ends up in another unfortunate situation that requires they return to a hospital for special treatment, they must disclose the information of their past drug addiction to their caring physician. If they do not, they do more harm than good. Many fear they will be judged for having gone to drug rehab, but should remember that it is a harrowing process to undertake, and not everyone is strong enough to enter in.
Be proud, never shameful! It is not everyday that someone successfully makes it out of drug rehab, and that is a point of celebration if nothing else.
