Golf Alignment - One of the Keys to Hitting a Great Golf Shot!

Most weekend golfers do not understand the correct golf alignment for each shot. This is because they do not take the time to think about it a little bit and they probably have never had a trained professional explain to them exactly how it works. The first thing you have to do is grip the club properly. The second thing you have to do is set up to the ball correctly. The last thing you have to do is aim properly at the target. These all go together and today we are going to talk about the "Aim" part of the three.

1. It is like railroad tracks

You are not going to set your shoulders or your feet in a line directly at the target. This would not make much sense anyway because you simply cannot hit your target if your shoulders and feet are aiming directly at it unless you make a huge compensation. You do not want to make any compensations because it will make it harder to hit a good golf shot. Think of railroad tracks and your feet and shoulders need to be parallel to the target line.

2. What do you really aim with?

Most golfers do not understand that proper golf alignment actually starts with the club face. However, if you think about it for a moment the part of the club that is going to hit the golf ball is the face. This means that it only makes sense that you would aim the face of the club where you want the ball to start. This is something you should do before you line up your feet or your shoulders.

3. The last part of proper golf alignment

There is just one part left to lining up correctly for the shot you are trying to hit. Once you have your target line figured out and you have the club face point right at the line you want to start the ball on, you need to set your feet and shoulders properly. However, you also need to make sure your feet and shoulders are lined up on the same line. A big mistake that many golfers make is their feet and shoulders are not on the same line. Make this your final checkpoint, then fire with that perfect golf swing you have.
