Sleeping is a very essential part of physical and mental fitness
. If a proper and fixed duration of sleep is not maintained then it can lead to several sleeping disorders which can negatively affect health. The foremost step to evaluate the sleeping habits of night is to improve the daytime activities.
Exercise not only keeps the mind and body sound but it can help in developing good sleep habits. An exercise session of 30 minutes stimulates the muscles of body which results in the increase in temperature. Thus, after a sudden pause of the exercise activity, the temperature level of the body decreases hence, it results in stress. This enables us to sleep well and on time.
Time also plays a very important role in this aspect. It is very essential to sleep on a fixed time daily. This can be done by keeping a regular bedtime schedule. One should sleep early to wake early. It is medically proved that a maximum of 6 hours sleep in required by the body. Sometimes a napping can interfere with sleeping habits. Hence it is mostly advised that we should try to eliminate short naps in late afternoons as they led to late night waking disturbing the routine.
Silence should prevail in the room before sleeping. Noise or hustle and bustle can create a fuss which may disrupt the sleep. Stimulants, alcohol and tobacco products should be avoided at least six hours before going to bed.
Another vital role is played by the sleeping environment which includes a comfortable bed with a soft mattress. Bed should be large enough to provide yourself with extra spacing to toss and turn while asleep. A good quality mattress is very important in this context because not having one can result in severe back aches and cramps.
