Good Ways To Identify Diamond

. But now it seems a little difficult to buy a satisfied diamond rings as the proliferation of fake diamond on the market, so you must know some tips on identifying them.

Identify them through breath

Breath upon the ring. If the water vapor disappeared immediately which means it is real diamond; if the water stays on the diamond ring for a few seconds, that mean it is fake one.

Identify them through a drop of water

Drop on the ring, if the ball shaped water keeps for a long time, it indicates that the diamond is true, but if droplet in a relatively short period of time spread is imitation.

Identify them through grease pencil

Using a special grease pencil or oil-based ink ballpoint pen to draw a line on the surface of diamond, if leaving a continuous line, it indicates that the diamond is true; on the contrary, if left in the line is intermittent, it indicates that is imitation. However, in this way, it needs to use a magnifying glass to observe the result.

Identify them through paper

Draw a black line on the white paper, then put the diamond on the line, if you can't see that line through diamond, that indicates diamond is true; if you can see it, the diamond is fake one.

Indentify them through adsorption

Diamond has a strong adsorption for oil and dirt. You could feel adhesive if touch it. This is different from other precious stones. In this way, it needs to strengthen training for finger touch sense.

Indentify them through single refraction

The characteristics of diamond determine the single refraction of diamond. And other natural stones or artificial stones are mostly double refraction. Observe the fake diamond at 10 times the magnifying glass, it is easy to see angular lines with overlapping images, while the bottom shows two light if observe it from the front and slightly oblique angle.

Compared with the fake diamond under 100 degrees incandescent light, it is easy to identify which have more adamantine luster. However, this method should not be in too dark or too strong light.
