, how do I explain that? Maybe GoodieWords can help! This kid-friendly, interactive iPad app explains some of those hard to define words in a fun and engaging way.

GoodieWords was developed with the help of early childhood experts to ensure the educational impact of the app. Adam Gittlin, GoodieWords Founder, got the idea for a childrens book series from his two-year-old son then saw an iPad and envisioned the text transforming into an interactive activity showing the word in the context of our everyday lives. Together with Rus Yusupov (GoodieWords Producer), Dr. Brigid Barron (Associate Professor of Education at Stanford University) and Michael Petillo (vocabulary and learning specialist at The Dalton School in New York City), Gittlin launched a great app for kids.

Bright colors, cute characters and engaging games teach preschoolers a variety of words without them realizing it. The GoodieWords home screen displays an icon for each word. Kids just touch a word, learn about it in a short story and then play a game to reinforce what theyve learned.

Create pictures with fingerprints, make it rain and see a rainbow, learn balance with ice cream and more with GoodieWords. The concept of balance becomes a yummy experience when you have to load your ice cream cone with scoops of ice cream and then tilt your iPad back and forth to keep it from falling.

GoodieWords is an entertaining, educational app for preschool aged kids and its lots of fun to play. I enjoyed learning words and then playing the games that reinforce them. Parents may turn story narration, sound effects, music and/or instructions on or off in Settings.

There are 15 words available now and the first three (shown above in bold) are free with your GoodieWords download from the App Store.
