Times have changed and the distinction between office and home or street clothes has for many fused into one. In times gone past a visit to the office meant a uniform of suit and tie even if there were never any visitors. The choices did not exist as they do today. How dull it must have been to remove a pinstripe jacket and tie and replace it for the evening with another jacket of simply a different colour and pattern.
