Great Tips Towards Anxiety Relief

Anxiety is a subconscious response to how an individual reacts to negative stress or stimulus

. Negative stress could mean constantly worrying about the future and having a general belief of things just not working out for you. This can then develop into whats known as an anxiety attack. These attacks and their intensity will differ greatly between sufferers. Some will be experiencing mild fears while others will escalate to the point of interrupting everyday life and not allowing that person to function properly. This is when anxiety truly becomes a problem and will have the greatest impact on a persons life.

The condition is really based on fear and its that fear building upon itself over and over again that usually causes the anxiety disorder to actually develop.

Learning how to better control your internal thoughts and manage your response to stress is an effective way to alleviate the condition. However many suffers believe that they are somehow different or in fact worse than anyone else with the same condition. This causes them to falsely believe they cannot get better or overcome it. This is why many suffer for so many years as this self limiting belief becomes instilled within them.

The truth is that once a person learns the proper techniques its actually not that difficult to relax yourself even during high stress events. There are particular relaxation techniques that can be quite effective in warding off anxiety attacks. Ive provided 4 of the techniques I find to be extremely helpful.

Meditation: This will help teach you how to better control your state of mind and the thoughts that your allowing to govern your daily life. Learning how to get your mind and body into a deep state of relaxation is the first step. From this point you can begin focusing on two different types of meditation. One method is to focus your mind on one particular thought letting nothing else in. The other is to practice clean slate mental focusing where your goal is to become free of all thoughts and just be at peace within the moment.

Massage Therapy: Although there is cost involved a full body massage can be an extremely relaxing experience. If you can implement some meditation techniques during the massage you will get even more out of it. The use of essential oils and scents can also produce a naturally soothing experience to better the experience.

Deep breathing: You will learn this when practicing meditation and by doing so you will be bringing in large amounts of oxygen. This is great for last minute jitters or if anxious feelings begin to creep in prior or during an event. Inhale deeply through the nose slowly counting up to 5 then slowly exhaling to a count of 8 through your mouth. Focus only on the breath flowing into and out of your body. Imaging yourself inhaling calmness and cleansing and exhaling any stress or negative thoughts. Do this for 3 minutes and notice the difference in how you begin to feel.

Positive Self Talk: This is harder than is sounds because for it to work you must eliminate the intrusive negativity. Start by grabbing a note pad and for 3 days straight keep it at hands reach. Write down each and every negative thought that pops into your head. Write down feelings as well for example thought about upcoming meeting and began feeling consumed by panic. What you want to discover is a list of your most common negative thoughts. Then you begin to replace these in your mind with positive affirmations each time the thought occurs. Eventually you will train your subconscious mind to react and respond differently to thoughts and feeling entering your mind. This takes time and practice and results arent felt overnight. Consistency and sticking with it even when that little voice in your head is telling not to bother will be your key to success.

Discovering which anxiety relaxation technique will work for you is very personal. Trying multiple techniques is the best way to determine what your body will respond to best. These are just 4 of the methods I have implemented in my life that work well for me. Learning how to manage your anxiety and getting your life back should become your highest priority if you truly want to enjoy all that life has to offer.
