With the western world suffering a significant recession, the consumer landscape is transforming. People want to envelop all the new technologies, but they also want a good degree of flexibility. Many are starting to move away from the erstwhile business model, which involved the signing of multiple year contracts, and moving towards the emerging networks and suppliers that offer greater flexibility. For example, you can now expect unlimited calls, unlimited data, unlimited e-mail, unlimited Internet, with no restrictions and no contract required. In addition, the monthly rate for what was once considered to be a "high-end" spectrum of services is well within the reach of the average consumer.
