Woman's Gymnastic has amazed girls through out the decades

. I remember as a young girl my first experience with gymnastics was when I was 7 years old and my sister taught me how to do a front aerial. I did not need to learn this for gymnastics but for baton twirling. That first flip was the start of my most favorite sport ever. I was extremely fortunate, I began my enthusiasm for gymnastics in the later part of the 60's early 70's. I was 8 years old when I first seen Cathy Rigby perform, she stole the hearts of all young girls and many gymnast wanna be's. She was amazing to watch. She delivered something special to girls gymnastics. I made a scrap album starting at that era. I collected gymnastic pictures from any book that I could located them and glue them in my book. Today is easy because you can find most gymnastics clipart on the internet.

The 70's was a very exciting decade for gymnastics. During the 1972 Olympics we were introduced to Russian gymnast Olga Korbut. She was amazing. She had a contagious smile and a small very flexible body.Her flexibility gave her advantage on the beam and floor exercise. She knew how to work the audience with her gymnastics. I was 10 years old and that was the first time I had watched someone kick their leg up and reach the back of their head. A trick I eventually learned. Nadia Comaneci graced us during the 76 Olympics. Nadia was from Romania. Nadia was 14 years old when she competed in summer Olympics in Montreal. I remember watching her. I was 15 at the time and I was in love. My scrap album was getting full of as many photos as I could find. They were placed in newpapers and teen books. Gymnastics clipart is at our fingertips with today's technology. Its so easy to type in the name and it locate the gymnast that you're looking for.

I would have loved anything to have had gymnastics clipart when I was a little girl. I did great with the pictures that were around to me. I would like to know what had became of my old scrap book. To be able to glance through it and see all the photos of Cathy Rigby, Olga Korbut, and Nadia Comaneci. Not just the way you can observe them on the internet but to look at them the way I did when I first fell in love with the sport of gymnastics when I was 8 years old. Today I watch my 4 year old granddaughter tumble around in the school yard doing cartwheels and trying to learn the front aerial. This brings fabulous childhood memories that will stay withme for the rest of my life and hopefully the rest of hers. Today is the day to start on her gymnastics scrap album. She will have it a lot more simple with the gymnastics clipart that she can access off the internet.
