Trim your hair regularly
If you are actively growing your hair, then get regular half-inch hair trims every three or four months. Trimming it regularly will help get rid of damaged hairs and unwanted split ends. Damaged hairs don't grow so it will just slow the growing process and make it worse.
Give your head a good massage
Massaging your scalp can increase circulation in your head, which can help stimulate your hair follicles and hair growth. Another way to give yourself a head rush is to flip your head upside-down once a day and gently brush it from roots to ends.
Eat a proper diet
Going on an extreme diet will not only make your body suffer, but also your hair growth. A well-balanced diet is essential to growing long, healthy hair. Eat foods rich in vitamin A, B, C and E as well as foods rich in protein and iron. These nutrients are proven to help your hair grow faster and healthier.
Don't stress too much
If you are living a very stressful lifestyle, then your hair will actually grow slower. Learn how to relax and chill out every once in a while and most of all, always get a good night sleep.
Treat your hair kindly
As much as possible, avoid using harsh chemicals and applying heated appliances. These things can make your hair weak and brittle and lead to damage. If you want to throw your hair up in a ponytail, make sure that you don't pull it too tight to avoid breakage. Give it a deep condition or hair mask once a week.
HELPFUL HOME REMEDY
Here's one that can be very helpful: Take 2 eggs and mix them with 4 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Blend them until they're totally smooth. This may be a little runny so have a large towel handy. Apply this mixture to your scalp. Wrap the towel around your head, put your feet up and relax. Leave it on for at least half an hour or even longer if possible. Rinse it off thoroughly. This will definitely breathe new life into lifeless hair.
When you detangle use a wide toothed comb with no rough seams. Put in a leave-in conditioner that provides a lot of slip to make the process easier. Only detangle small sections at a time. Start at the end of a section and careful work out the knots. Once the end of the section is knot free move your comb up and work a little higher. Do this until that section is knot free all the way up to the root. Always detangle slowly and carefully. Never detangle dry hair. Wet hair is more elastic and will break less when detangling.
