This is an activity that causes breakage. Also, when combing hair it stretches and the chance of breakage increases. When the hair is stretched from its normal length it can cause irreversible damage and may not bounce back to its original form. Other research has proven that hair holds a negative charge and shampoos are designed to have a negative charge so that the shampoo cannot absorbed. Manufacturers show, through research, that to have a positive charge, conditioners should be used so moisture can absorbed. A conditioner that is properly formulated is doing its job by not leaving deposits behind, therefore helping to reduce friction between the individual strands.
