Hair Loss Treatment For Modern Patients
Hair loss treatment used to be almost as much of a lost cause as the hair one was trying to replace
. Until recently, hair loss treatment involved one of two methods: using preparations and ointments, in a barely vindicated sort of sponsored quackery; or undergoing hair transplant surgery, a hugely painful, fairly dangerous and definitely long-winded operation involving grafting areas of hair from other parts of the head to the balding area.
These days, hair loss treatment has come on in leaps and bounds though it is still a difficult job, its no longer a dangerous one. And even the ointment and preparation route has lost much of its quack status, with hair loss treatment serums and lotions having proven efficacy in particular situations. The most exciting form of new hair loss treatment, though, is follicular transfer, a technique that has relegated hair loss operations from the realms of medically invasive to the more encouraging strata of minor op.
Hair loss treatment by FT, or follicular transfer, isnt a quick thing. Follicular transfer is the process of removing individual hairs from a donor area on the head (the donor area is identified as one where the direction of hair growth is as close as possible to the natural direction of the hair in the replacement site) and inserting them, one by one, into the transplant area. If it sounds slow, it is but its a lot safer, a lot more accurate and usually a lot more successful than the old strip graft method of hair replacement.
Strip grafting, generally (its still done) is guaranteed to work but the complications that can arise after that kind of hair loss treatment are painful and long-winded; and the actual graft is obviously a graft, even when healed. The FT method of hair loss treatment, if successful, promotes hair growth that looks exactly like the real thing i.e., the donor hair grows in the right direction and doesnt look as though it has been stuck on.
In reality, FT grafts dont grow straight out of the replacement area at all. The FT method of hair loss treatment inserts donor hairs into a bald patch, which bed their roots in and then fall out. New hairs grow from the roots in a natural pattern hence the excellent results the technique has enjoyed. And, because the FT method of hair loss treatment doesnt require that areas of hair-filled skin be surgically removed, its a lot less painful and theres no scarring. This is the future of hair replacementclean, painless and usually successful.
