Hair Salon In Santa Monica Says: Go High Profile With Highlights!
We are constantly searching for ways on how we can enhance our physical beauty
. Our hair is one of the things we really spend a lot upon. Having attractive tresses is a big challenge for everyone. But there is a simple way to add beauty to our natural hair and that is Hair Highlighting.
Hair highlights give emphasis on a haircut's focal point because it adds dimension and depth to your hair. Highlights can either give you a funky or a sophisticated look. It really depends on the method and the color you're using.
Hair highlights and hair coloring are two different things. Hair coloring is the process of coloring the entire hair where as highlighting only colors a few hair strands. Hair highlights have been restricted to bright metallic tints.
There are four types of highlighting:
Foil highlighting. Strips of foil are being used to wrap colored hair strands. This process is used in order to separate the colored ones to the other. This is the very common process of highlighting in salons. I saw them doing this in a Santa Monica beauty salon I've visited before.
Hair Painting. This method of highlighting the hair uses a hair painting brush or a comb. Hair painting is often permanent. Commonly, brush is used to paint the hair but you can also use a comb to achieve thin sized strand highlights. You can do this method at home, but I suggest that you ask a professional to do it for you.
Chunking. This highlight come in bigger and bolder colors. Chunky highlights are often applied to larger parts of hair. It has become an alternative to the traditional highlights. So if you want something daring and dramatic, chunky highlighting is the thing for you.
Low-lighting. This is the same process as highlighting but with a darker shade of color. This is great for people who have light and bright hair colors. It will give depth and dimension by doing the opposite of highlighting.
Highlighting can be done at home or by a professional like in a hair salon in Santa Monica. Depending on how you apply highlighting, it will affect your physical appearance. For some, highlighting can make them look old while others may look young. So, be cautious with your decision and always let a professional do the highlighting for you!
