Today hair styles are as varied as the clothes people are
. I personally have yet to meet a women who does not do some sort of coloring with her hair. Everything from major dye jobs to just some highlights of their natural color. I have noticed it is just the same with men. Whether its just getting rid of some grey or dying their hair to its original color when they were 19 years old. One thing everybody does do is style their hair. A simple comb no longer will suffice when it comes to people and their hair these days. The amount of products people can choose from to accomplish a certain look is staggering. It is literally in the hundreds, maybe even thousands. Your hair says something about you. How it looks is your personal choice, and what you use to make it look a certain way has become a million dollar industry in the last century alone.
Spraying your hair was the thing to do back in the 1970"s and especially in the 1980"s. Then in the 1990"s things kind of fell into a funk. It looked more cool to not style your hair or even comb it. Thus leading to a style called bed head. Which people now try and accomplish with styling and hair gels. Even certain hair cuts can help you achieve this look. Personally I love a new product called AXE. Relatively new to the hairstyling business this hair sculpting gel can make your hair look a certain way with your hair still relatively soft to the touch. The commercials say it all, and the product does very well. As we become more educated in chemical that are safe and healthy for our hair more products are flooding out into the market.
In a pinch hair spray is still used by most super and runway models to achieve crazy and wild looking hair styles, as it will hold hair in a fashion that can not be done with simple sculpting gels. I suppose it a matter of personal opinion. Right now in the early 21 Century it seem that men who want to get a certain style with their hair use gel, and women still use hair spray. It could be do to the fact that women have much longer hair in most cases then the average man. Either way there is no hair style to outlandish or bizarre to achieve with the help of hair styling products.
