Halloween Party Games Can Be Spooky And Fun

Games are a big part of any party, and Halloween Party Games can really turn up the spooky fun

. At a children's party the games should have a Halloween theme but not be too scary. And the good news is that it's easy to take traditional party games and turn them into Halloween party games. Pin the Tail on the Donkey can magically turn into Pin the Head on the Skeleton. Just be sure that the paper or felt skeleton is a friendly smiling fellow. Try cutting large pumpkins out of orange poster board, and 'carving' lots of eyes, noses, and mouths out of poster board of various colors. Tape the pumpkins on a wall. Use two-sided tape or poster tack to let the children create their own Jack-o-Lanterns by sticking the eyes, noses, and mouths on the pumpkins. Make enough so each child can do their own and then take it home as a party favor.

Treasure Hunt is another great Halloween party game. This can be played inside or out. At Halloween add a scary twist. Place clues around the party area, along with hidden surprises like ghosts made from cheese cloth or an old sheet attached to a rope that can be pulled when the child comes close to that clue. Sound effects like ghostly boos and evil laughter will make the game even more fun.

Halloween Party Games for an adult party can be even spookier. Play around with a Ouija board and let guests' imaginations run wild. It wouldn't hurt to set up a few ghostly sound effects ahead of time to get those imaginations started. Try filling a box with things that are damp, fuzzy, or sticky and have the guests take turns putting their hand in the box. Next they have to guess what they are touching. Things like cooked noodles and corn husk silk, make for some really "oh no!" moments that everyone will enjoy. Have the guests come in costumes then give them a list of items to gather during a timed scavenger hunt. They have to form teams and roam the neighborhood or even the town or area searching for the items while staying in costume the whole time. Make sure that the winners get really good prizes.

Quizzes are always fun at parties, and will make a great addition to any selection of Halloween party games. Have lists of trivia questions about horror and science fiction movies ready. Let the guests break up into teams or answer individually. Winners could get horror movie CDs as their prizes.
