Hardwood Flooring 101

It is used for different parts of the house to have a sturdier floor. It is a type of floor where cleaning is easy. For me, sweeping and mopping is so much easier to do when it comes to hardwood floors. Hardwood flooring is actually made of timber and sometimes even bamboo. What are different types of hardwood flooring? There are two types of hardwood flooring and these are solid hardwood and engineered hardwood.Solid hardwood has different sizes and styles. This is really a product of timber and solid wood. This was actually made for structure in some buildings because of how it is put in such a perpendicular way towards the timber support. Unfortunately, not all buildings today are made of this kind of hardwood. When it comes to flooring, this kind of hardwood has a number of limits to certain descriptions of wood. The wood has a downside when it comes to its moisture and temperature thus making the solid hardwood have a lot of limits when it comes to size. The average dimension of a hardwood would be 5 inches wide and inch thick. Solid hardwood should not be used together with concrete. As for engineered type of hardwood flooring it is more used by different wood flooring companies worldwide. It is made up of about 3 layers of wood, but instead of being made by timber, it is made of plank. It is known for its great stability because of its two strong layers which are the lamella and the substrate.Oftentimes engineered type of hardwood flooring is confused with different kinds of floors like laminate or veneer. Veneer is only a narrow layer of wood that has substrate and laminate only has an image of wood. Do not be fooled which is which! So how much would it cost for you to install hardwood on your floor?Hardwood costs about $3.99 per square foot. This is only the material itself. Other needs for the flooring are still not part of that. It all depends on how you would want to install your hardwood flooring. For example, if you would wish to have a hardwood subfloor, you would need staples, nails and other flooring tools. These are all in the tool bag of the installer. However, even if there are needs such as this, there are certain companies that do not require separate fees for the installation. The tools are actually not expensive. So what can you do to help the installer? There are a lot of things to do before installing hardwood flooring. When I had mine installed, I did these things: 1. Let your children go away from the house first and pets too. Having floors installed can be noisy and dusty. Children can be annoyed by this fact and installers can be annoyed with your pet snooping every now and then within the area. Let your installer work peacefully so that he can get the job done ASAP.2. Be the one to remove the furniture. If you let the installer do it, chances are he'd make you pay extra fees. Why don't you do it yourself? Call a friend to help you.3. Your installer may need to do the cutting of the hardwood flooring. He may need a place to do this. Have your garage open or your backyard for this activity. Make sure that there are no extra things in these areas because he would need all the space.4. I wasn't able to get my breakables out of the way during the hardwood flooring installation so about3 of my vases and figurines broke when the installer kept on bumping them. Lesson learned! Take out all the things that can be a hindrance to the installer's work.I never had such an experience with hardwood flooring. Before my kitchen floors would be so hard to clean. Luckily I was able to find this type of floor which is very fit for me and my kids. You should get yours done today!
