Water is an important constituent of the human body, we all know that, but did you know that the brain contains 90% of water and the water content in the blood is about 85%. It is also present in our muscles. And as we constantly lose water from our body through perspiration or urination, we need to replace that lost quantity by drinking lots of water.
Dehydration is a medical term used when due to lack of water consumption our body becomes deficient in water.
Before knowing the benefit of drinking water we need to know their function in our body. Our brain and blood contains 90% and 85% that is already mentioned, also our muscles and tissues consist of water (approximately 70%), but our bones also contains around 20-25% water. With such an expansive presence throughout the body, it plays a vital role in the functioning of the body.

o Tiredness and fatigue (as water energizes the body)

o Improves digestion and cures constipation as water improves the metabolism of the body. It helps dissolve and digest the fibers in the body.
o As the muscles have 70% of water, dehydration can lead to muscle cramps. Hence drinking sufficient water can prevent muscle cramps.
o Reduces fatigue and tiredness by re-energizing the body and hence inducing a feel good factor
o Drinking lots of water also helps you lose weight. This water helps in burning calories and also cleanses the body of by-products. Drinking water also suppresses the body hunger, and water has no calories so it does not add to the body weight.
o When a person works out in a gym he sweats a lot, hence it is essential to drink water after a heavy work out session to avoid dehydration. Ideally a person should drink 2-3 glasses before and after gym. It invigorates your body hence helping you do more strenuous exercises
o People suffering from migraines should drink lots of water to avoid a migraine attack. It also helps reduce headaches and improves concentration
o Water does wonders for one's skin (like moisturizing)
o Problems of the heart and kidney (kidney stone) can be averted by drinking water regularly
o Some studies have also proved that drinking water also fights against cancer (usually bladder and colon). Even smokers are advised to drink lots of water to avert any health risks.
