This means that the person will not have difficulty looking around for it when they think they might have lost it. It is also less prone to rolling or falling off a desk or table because of its shape. Another reason why older people prefer this type of hearing aid is because of the quality that it delivers to the individual. The sound quality that is delivered is better than most of the devices that are available in the market. This may be because the bigger device has elements that can carry the sound better. The battery life of the BTE can also last longer than the smaller ones. The longer battery life helps the older people especially when they forget to change it or charge it.

Some older people opt for the hearing aid that is usually smaller at first but after they have experienced some difficulty with the smaller ones they might opt for the bulkier ones. Many audiologists recommend the BTE device to prevent the cost of getting two of the instruments.
