Help With Emergency Rent In Denver, Colorado

The Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) located in Boulder, CO, about half an hour from Denver, has helped families within the area with emergency rent and many other basic necessities the disadvantaged people in this community has needed. Read how this non-profit agency helped the "Smith"Family with an emergency housing situation, they just couldn't fix on their own.

The "Smith's", are a low income family of six living in a mobile home community in Boulder, CO. Mrs. Smith, is a stay-at-home mom, while her husband works in the transportation industry. A few years ago, the family of eight, was residing in a two-bedroom, one-bathroom mobile home that became much too difficult to live in as her family began to expand.

"As the boys began to get older, and our daughter was born, it became ever so cramped in our home. We looked to buy a house but we could not afford it. Renting was also very costly," said Mrs. Smith.

With Limited options, due to unaffordable rental and buying rates from homes, they purchased a larger mobile home, but due to a mishap with the contractors, The Smith's had to push back their move-in date.

"We were homeless," said Mrs. Smith. "My husband was still working at his job but things were looking pretty bleak."

That's when Mrs. Smith decided to contact the EFAA and through their organization, this Colorado family found emergency housing help. They were placed in temporary housing during their move into to their new home.

"They were our saving grace, " said Mrs. Smith. "They kept us all together and whole to make this transition possible."

The Smith Family is just one example of how the EFAA helped with emergency housing and rental assistance. This essential organiztion has been the community's safety net since 1918, and will continue to help families in the Denver area community as long as it's necessary.
