You hear stories about what happens if you do not do enough exercise but for many people they think it really does not apply to them

Statistics tell us that it costs much less both in health, time and money to stay strong and fit than it does to heal disease, health issues and complications brought on by not doing enough proper exercise.

There is a very high price for living a sedentary life. The lack of exercise can negatively affect the functioning of the metabolism (the body's engine) the brain, heart and lungs, blood vessels, bones and joints, liver and other major organs along with mental and emotional health. Stress becomes harder to manage along with body weight and there is a general weakening of the body as it goes into a downward spiral

It is hard to imagine how anyone would risk these detrimental effects on their body and mind yet 8 out of 10 adults do not do enough proper muscle building and maintaining activity. Many people believe they do enough exercise just doing their daily tasks and activities but this is incorrect.


Our 'easy' and 'convenient' modern day lives do not have anything like the proper activity the human body needs to remain healthy. With our cars, appliances, gadgets and technology most of us can get through the day without ever 'moving a muscle'.

Around 80 percent of our day is spent sitting or some other extremely low effort activity. This does not even come close to what is needed to keep the body strong and healthy. To get the body to release the 'growth and repair' hormones that renew and replace old worn out cells and tissues vigorous muscular activity is needed to stimulate the process.

Without the muscles doing the work they have been designed to do chemicals whisper to the cells and tissues to decay, degenerate and die and this is what ages us prematurely and leaves us susceptible to an epidemic of chronic modern lifestyle diseases. Awful killer diseases like heart disease, cancer and diabetes and at least 50 others that have no cure, leave their victims broken and ruined for the remainder of their life.

It is up to each of us to take responsibility for our own health and wellness rather than waiting for the wheels to fall out then rushing around trying to find someone to repair the damage when no-one can. From the top of your head to the bottom of your toes keeping yourself strong with 2-3 sessions of strength training exercise done with some effort put in to it will go a long way to keeping you protected from disease.
