Heritage Hotels In Jaisalmer - A Feast For The Senses

Located in the midst of the Thar Desert, Jaisalmer is known for its sand dunes

Fort Rajwada is another of the Jaisalmer hotels which is known to provide travellers with a 'heritage' experience. A yellow sandstone structure, it stands opposite the famous sona kila (golden fortress). It is spread across no less than 6 acres of land, and is located in the outskirts of the main city.

The hotel has four luxury suites and 91 rooms. One of the suites is called Sheesh Mahal and its appeal lies in its traditional furniture and the cut-glass work that decorates its ceiling.

The hotel not only takes care of traveller accommodation but also has facilities to keep them entertained. If desired, the staff organises for guests to visit places in and around the city, go for camel or jeep rides, take a look at wild animals that inhabit the surrounding areas or even try camping.

The spa has around 21 tents on 31 acres of desert scrub. This Jaisalmer camp has a pool that is designed after a traditional Indian step well. The spa was created by one of the leading spa companies in the world. The tents are equipped with a veranda and en suite bathroom as well. The tent covers about 1100 sq feet of space and the beds are extremely spacious. The tent suites have a separate garden and small plunge pool as well.

The Serai provides the ultimate finesse and luxury even though it is located in the middle of the desert. The hotel also sells carefully designed traditional products. These can be good souvenirs to pick up during the stay. You will be provided with the ultimate luxury in the desert camp of The Serai. Much of the ingredients used are organic and grown in the complex itself.
