Recently here in Colorado Springs there have been several examples of how hidden cameras have helped catch a burglar. In one example, there was an external spy camera on the outside of the house. While the homeowners were gone the bad guys pulled up the driveway, got out and proceeded to burglarize the house-in broad daylight yet!

Burglaries are one of the few areas of crime that are on the increase for whatever reason. Burglars find homes easy targets. Maybe it has to do with the fact that they don't even have to break into a home. They just walk in through an unlocked doors or windows.

The burglars knew the home was temporarily vacated but that's another story. The homeowners called the local police department told them what was going on. The police picked the two guys on the way out the front door.

Now I will admit there is little bit of luck involved in that example but the idea is there. You can see what's going on at your home, vacation home or business from anywhere in the world with remote Internet surveillance.

Get a regular us spy camera. There are many to choose from, with prices ranging from $100 up to $350. Then hook it up to what is called an embedded DVR that has remote Internet access. This allows you to view what's going on at your home, office or business when you're out of town on vacation or business trip. It is little bit more complicated than the second way to catch a burglar but he gives you better capability.

The easiest way is to get an all-inclusive hidden spy camera with DVR. These technological tools use an 8 GB SD card to record activity in the area that you aim the camera. It records color images-up to 144 hours worth. To play the images back insert the SD card into the SD card reader of your computer.

Those are the best two ways to catch a burglar in the act when you're not at your house using hidden spy cameras.
