This is the place where one can see mighty snow peaks, lush green land, deep gorges, flower filled meadows, golden valleys, misty woods, glaciers, fast flowing icy rivers and enchanting lakes. The scenic valleys of Kangra, Kullu and Kinnaur are other captivating places here. There are numerous superb locations for sight-seeing and relaxing where the travelers can spend their time. There are many sites where one can go for fishing, trekking, river rafting, mountaineering, skiing, ice skating, para-gliding and golf.

Himachal Pradesh came into being as a state on January 25, 1971.The word Himachal means 'Land of Snow'. The physiographic features of Himachal Pradesh include hills, fast flowing valleys and high soaring mountains covered with snow. Traditionally this region has strong connections with its neighbors Tibet and here one can see cultural and religious similarities in these two places. This place is the combination of charm and mystery. Lahaul, Kinnaur and Spiti offer lots of adventure for the travelers. Most of the people of Himachal reside in villages and small towns. These villages have simple living and are satisfied with whatever little they have to fulfil the basic necessities of life. One can find temples in most of the villages where people assemble to worship. In certain parts of the state and during some occasions the village Gods are carried on palanquins. The largest crowd of the people can be seen on Dussehra.
Wildlife
Himachal Pradesh has large variety of flora and fauna. Since ages land is known for its landscapes, beautiful forests, wildlife and wilderness. In Himachal Pradesh there are as many as 2 National Parks 32 Sanctuaries and 3 Games Reserves.
Pilgrimage
Himachal Pradesh is popularly known as "Devabhoomi", which means the abode of the Gods. The grand heights of the Himalyan ranges, with its amazing scenic beauty and aura of spirituality and calmness it seems to be the home of the Gods. There are around two thousands temples all over the State, which attract large number of pilgrims.
