Ceilidh bands - How to Hire The Right Live Ceilidh bands
It's worth checking if there are any restrictions at your venue before speaking with any potential Scottish Ceilidh bands. Some Venues may have restrictions on space or noise restrictions it's worth clarifying this first.
Decide on what kind of atmosphere you are looking to create based on the music that you select. Would you prefer a livelier energetic atmosphere suited to a younger age group? Or perhaps more mellow dance with less energy required?
Find content of the band playing live. Watching videos of the Scottish Ceilidh bands is best. Pay attention and see how the band interacts with its audience and see the variety of songs they perform nobody wants a one or two hit wonder at their Ceilidh Dance!
Ask to see a sample playlists as this will also help assess the band and their ability to play a wide range of songs. It is good practice to play a variety of different songs so that it appeals to the widest tastes possible.
Ask what equipment the band uses. A good established band will have invested in good equipment and if the band is enthusiastic about their equipment that is a very good sign! You also want to ask the Ceilidh bands what amount of room they require so you can reference that against the space you have at your venue.
When checking with the venue about space you also want to check if the stage will support a band with x number of members and equipment. You will also need to ensure that the venue can provide enough power points for the Ceilidh bands.
