Osijek is situated in the eastern part of Croatia and it is the largest city in Slavonia region
. The city is placed on the right side of Drava River, 22 kilometers from the confluence in the Dunav River. Recreational centre and Zoo are located along the river. Also, a promenade is situated along the Drava River. A few years ago, a promenade was chosen for the most beautiful promenade in Croatia. Osijek has a lot of green areas and 17 parks.

The historical core of the city is called Tvra which was a fortress long time ago. The Holy Trinity Square is the main square in Tvra. Baroque buildings are located around the square

Gornji Grad is the urban centre of Osijek. Main square called Ante Starcevic Square is located there. The square has a shape of a triangle with buildings that were built in period of Secession.
Baroque Church of Saint Anne is located in Donji Grad. It is significant because of its bell tower. Richly drawn columns were carried out on the each floor of the bell tower.
There are two museums of national importance in the city. Museum of Slavonia is located in the Tvra. You can see a rich collection of historical items in the Museum of Slavonia. The items represent an abundant history of Slavonia. The second museum is the Archeological Museum which is located in the building of the Town Guard. The Gallery of Fine Art has a valuable collection of paintings from 18th till 20th century.
The city offers a diverse tourist offer. Tourists can have ride in a coach or in the oldest European tram. Numerous events are held in the city during the year. The most popular events are the Festival of Tambura Music and the Osijek Summer Nights.
Osijek Tourist Board organizes local specialties cooking during the year. Tourists can taste the authentic slavonian dishes made by the original recipe. Osijek and its surroundings are known for their natural brandy.
