History Of Hermes

The names Hermes originated from Greek mythology

, the son of the gods Zeus and Maia, the divinity of commerce and invention. However, many of us will recognize the name Hermes as the great French fashion brand designing upmarket handbags and scarves.

The luxury fashion house started its workshop in 1837 by Their Hermes. Hermes the band started as a small family run business designing and making harnesses for the royal and elite.It was Thierry"s son, Charles-mile Herms who began retail sales and moved the shop to its new location. The shop remains there today.

In the seventies, they broke into the men"s market with their first ready to wear men" scollection. In 1984, the Birkin bagwas created to forever uphold the Hermes reputation, as the Birkin Bag is one of the most fashionable luxurious bags in the 21st century. There are nowover 240 boutiques around the world selling the whole range of Hermes bags. Hermes now entering all sectors within the fashion world, even having their own fragrance range dominates the fashion world. With many counterfeits and other designers looking up to Hermes, you can see similar designs all over the high street. However, Hermes will always be known for their handbag and scarf range.

Hermes still lives strong with the elite and rich still buying the luxury brand and others who may have a smaller budget seeking similar styles elsewhere, the influence is as great as ever. It can even be said, the influence of Hermes is greater than those of Chanel and Louis Vuitton. However, the Chanel handbag range and their influences are different, both Hermes and have their different mark with designs and practically for their handbag range.
