History Of Men's Fashion
When it comes to clothing and fashion it is always most intriguing to look back in history and see what changes have been made
. It is more common to follow the women's trends but now with men making there mark in the fashion world, it has become an interest to look back and see the changes over the different years in their attire. Of course going way back in hundreds of years, it comes down to the men's clothing being that of necessity to be able to withstand the harsh elements that they were constantly exposed to and whatever endeavors they took on. There was no such thing as a fashion statement at that time.
As time progressed though, this began to change where men were taking on different stances in life and becoming the rugged working man verses the gentleman of business. Then fashion began to take on a whole new meaning. If one looks at the Victorian era this is certainly evident. With the high collared button down shirts and bolo hats and coat tails this was certainly the beginning of what one could say would be the male making his fashion mark in the world of clothing.
Even so at that time in life men did not put the emphasis on clothing that women have been known for throughout the centuries.
It would seem that men put a great deal of emphasis on the material of their clothing and base there stature on the quality of the material.
Hats have been something that has always made a fashion statement for many years. Although in today's fashion world hats don't take the priority they are still something that is not forgotten. Men tend to go more for the hats when it comes to the casual attire as opposed to the business wear, but in any event they are still very much in the forefront.
It is only been in the last several years that men have paid more attention to the design of their clothing as opposed to perhaps the material or what is acceptable.
In this point of history fashion for men changes almost on a yearly basis the same as it does for women. Men are far more tuned into their line of clothing now in all areas of their life meaning there formal, business, and casual wear. At one point in time it would seem that the only male that would be applicable to making any type of fashion statement would be the proper gentlemen or a man of stature or royalty for example.
Those particular days are long gone now as even the blue collar worker has got to a point where he is beginning to make his own fashion statement, and has his own fashion concerns when it comes to his working attire. This is evident when one looks at all of the major brands that produce a whole line of clothing, that they are also paying attention to the style of the working mans clothing as well. There is no doubt that the fashion world is in a boom and when one looks back in history this is just history repeating itself.
