Hoe Obesity Hurts your Health
In World War II, over 400,000 Americans lost their lives fighting against Hitler and the Axis Powers. Countless documentaries have been produced and thousands of different books have been published on the subject of the Second World War. This is proper and right to do so. Having a love of History and a grandfather that fought in the war, the recognition of the brave soldiers who gave the best years of their lives and for many, the entirety of their lives for such a cause, every American owes a debt of gratitude that we can never repay. Life in America would be very different had the Allied Powers not prevailed in WWII.
Having said that, there is a disproportion amount of attention and action that is being given to another silent killer in America and one whose death toll far outweighs that of WWII or any war that America has fought: obesity and health. 325,000 deaths each and every year are attributed to obesity in America! That means that in less than ten years, there were more deaths from obesity in America than there are the total number of every man, woman and child that reside in the city of Chicago! Obesity and health are linked so closely in our society, that it would behoove all of us to recognize the link that the two share.
Also, the aforementioned number of deaths that are attributed to obesity does not even scratch the surface of those whose lives have been adversely affected by being overweight or who are suffering some type of eating disorder but who appear to be healthy. Nevertheless, those who suffer, often times in silence, should also be counted among those whose absence of proper nutrition in their lives, serves as an impediment to their overall happiness and therefore, the happiness of those whose lives they affect.
You see, nobody is an island unto themselves. What we do can affect countless others in many ways; both positive and negative. So when you are not healthy because of a lack of a nutritional diet plan, it affects not only you but those around you. But in the same way one cannot expect to build a home without the proper knowledge and tools, so too should one not be expected to maintain a healthy lifestyle or to even lose weight, until they too have the proper knowledge and tools as well.
Life is very, very short. We all know this even though some of us feel that the strength of being young will protect us forever, life is short. Therefore, the quality of that life that has been given to us, should be viewed at a premium.Obesity affects your health in many negative ways.
